Patrick Foley's Irish Bar & Restaurant was established in 1997, in the vibrant Flemish city of Ghent.
Central to our success has been combining big hearted Irish hospitality and a homely decor, with quality drink and outstanding food. Our kitchen combines hearty Irish cuisine with the finesse of the Belgian kitchen and our ever popular burgers and Irish fries have kept our customers coming back for years.
Foley's is one of Gent's go to places for quality food
Similarly, our extensive drinks card ensures that nobody will be left wanting for choice, particularly whiskey drinkers, who can choose from what we are confident, is amongst the most extensive selection of whiskey in the region.
As you will be able to read for yourself on this website, we offer a broad range of facilities to all our visitors. We are able to facilitate football screenings and student parties in our dedicated party lounge, host drinks out in our extensive terrace and central bar area, whilst providing ample dining space for those seeking a quiet evening for two or a small family gathering.
We welcome all bookings and enquiries received, and we invite you to make use of the calendar, news, discussion and feedback features of this website, to help us continue to be the Irish heart of Flanders.
Food & Drink:
Our extensive and varied menu offers all the staples you would expect from an Irish bar and restaurant. Diners can choose from our sumptuous range of delicious burgers, along with classic Irish dishes such as rib eye steak, fish & chips or cottage pie. If you’re seeking something a little lighter, you will be more than satisfied with our popular range of pies, salads and sides. For the kids, we have put together a selection of our classics in mini-form.
As well as offering an à la carte menu, we also provide a shortened offering for groups of ten or more to choose from. All our meals are cooked using the finest ingredients it is practical and possible to source, whilst our kitchen team’s many years of experience have allowed them to hone our classic dishes to be best in class.
We cater to a range of dietary needs, offering several vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes. If you have any dietary needs which go beyond these requirement (such as nut allergies etc.), please don’t hesitate to phone or email us before your visit, or speak to one of our staff on arrival.
Behind the bar you will find a selection of the most popular Belgian beers, as well as Irish classics such as Guinness and Magners cider. We also stock an extensive range of Irish whiskey, to rival the stocks of anywhere in the region. To round out our drinks selection, we sell the expected range of soft and warm drinks, which includes a very special hot chocolate, which is reason enough to drop by on a cold evening.

A Place For Everyone:
With our specialist party rooms, old style bar, multiple dining areas and spacious terrace, we can play host to a range of parties and events at any one time, whilst doing our best to ensure that louder groups are kept apart from those just out to enjoy a quiet drink or meal.
Foley’s has always had a broad appeal and our recent renovations have taken into account the many walks of people and the reason you each have for visiting us.
To start, families have always been a lynchpin to our success. We provide a special menu for children and we have ample seating downstairs so that older people don’t have to navigate the stairs.
If you have visited Foley’s and felt anything other than welcome, we ask you to use the suggestions form contained within our info panel to let us know why, and we will endeavour to make things right.
Promotions:
As well as hosting a range of daily specials within our menu, we regularly run promotions on certain lines of drinks and menu offerings.
We will often run promotions to coincide with sporting events and we celebrate St. Patrick's day every year with an all day party, which typically includes a range of drinks promotions, goodie bags and special side dishes.
Entertainment & Quiz:
Be it live football and rugby, live music or our Monday night pub quiz, Foley’s has always worked hard to make us more than just a place to eat and drink.
We cover all the big football games and as a pub with a passion for rugby, we show the 6 nations and southern Hemisphere rugby union games. We have several HD screens dotted around the bar, with a central TV where fans often gather to follow the action.
Quiz night is held every Monday, starting at 8pm. We host the quiz and provide prizes for the top 3 teams. Its free to participate (no more than 4 persons per team please). To keep things fair, we don’t take reservations for the quiz, so we recommend you turn up in plenty of time to avoid disappointment, as it has become a very popular event.
